Apple rolls out macOS Golden Gate beta 6 for developers
Apple has released the sixth developer beta of macOS Golden Gate, adding design tweaks and new AI-powered features such as an upgraded Siri assistant.
Apple made the sixth beta of its upcoming macOS Golden Gate available to developers, a week after the fifth beta was released. The update can be downloaded through System Settings > General > Software Update, provided beta updates are enabled and a free developer account is used.
The beta introduces several visual refinements, including clearer Liquid Glass opacity, a transparency slider, and adjusted window shadows to better indicate active windows. Toolbars are now uniform across apps, sidebars extend edge-to-edge, corners are less rounded, and menu bars contain fewer icons.
Siri has been rebranded as Siri AI, a chatbot-style assistant that combines general knowledge, personal data and on-screen context. It is integrated into Spotlight via a new Search or Ask interface, and a dedicated Siri app lets users view past conversations and customize the voice on newer Macs. Visual Intelligence enables the assistant to answer questions about screen content, while a Write with Siri feature assists with text generation and editing.
Additional AI capabilities include photo editing tools in the Photos app, AI-driven tab organization in Safari, automatic password strengthening in the Passwords app, and an updated Image Playground app that can create photorealistic images.
Further details on the new features are available in a macOS Golden Gate roundup.
