Apple rolls out iOS 26.6.1 with fixes for more than 20 security flaws
Apple has released iOS 26.6.1, a security update that patches over 20 vulnerabilities across iPhone, iPadOS, macOS and visionOS platforms.
Apple announced the availability of iOS 26.6.1, a security-focused update that addresses more than 20 vulnerabilities on iPhone devices. The release notes indicate that most of the patches target WebKit, with additional fixes for components such as Audio, ImageIO and the kernel.
The update is also provided for iPadOS 26.6.1, macOS Tahoe 26.6.2 and, pending publication, visionOS 26.6.1. Apple’s website notes that the visionOS details will be released soon and are expected to mirror those of the other platforms.
"We plan to ship software updates with security fixes more regularly moving forward," an Apple spokesperson said, citing the growing risk of AI-powered hacking attempts.
The rollout comes weeks before the anticipated launch of iOS 27, and Apple indicated that this may be the final interim update before the next major version arrives.
