Lions coach Dan Campbell says he isn’t surprised Seattle signed cornerback Terrion Arnold
Dan Campbell said he expected other teams to consider signing Terrion Arnold after the Lions released him amid felony charges, and expressed goodwill toward the player.
Seattle Seahawks are in talks to add former Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold, who was released after being charged with eight felonies in Florida. Detroit head coach Dan Campbell told reporters he was not surprised that another team would evaluate Arnold, noting the player’s talent and character.
"No, I’m not surprised. Every team’s going to do their due diligence, just like we would if we were in their seat," Campbell said. "He’s a good kid, he’s got ability, we’ve seen him on tape. I have no ill will whatsoever towards Terrion. I wish him the best."
Campbell added that Arnold is a “good dude” and called the situation unfortunate, but said the decision to cut him was final. The Lions remain responsible for the remaining guaranteed money on Arnold’s rookie contract through 2027 unless they void the guarantees.
Seattle coach Mike Macdonald indicated that the timing of Arnold’s potential arrival is still being worked out, using the phrase “if and when he gets here,” suggesting the signing is not yet confirmed.
