Rams coach says no deadline for Aaron Donald's retirement decision

Resumen

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said the team will not impose a deadline on former defensive tackle Aaron Donald as he considers a comeback, but hopes he decides soon.

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay told the Los Angeles Times that the team will give former defensive tackle Aaron Donald ample time to decide whether to return from retirement, without imposing an "invisible deadline." McVay said Donald has earned the right to make a clear choice and the Rams want to avoid unnecessary pressure.

Donald, 35, retired in March after a ten-year career with the Rams and has been working out with the team since early August. He began contemplating a return in early June after the Rams acquired Myles Garrett and has been assessing his physical readiness.

"He's put himself in a position to be able to say yes or no," McVay said, adding that the team feels confident in its current roster and believes Donald would add value if he chooses to come back.

The Rams must cut their roster to 53 players by Aug. 30, but McVay emphasized that while the organization has internal dates for roster decisions, it will not set a hard deadline for Donald's potential comeback.
