HBO Max renews "Stuart Fails to Save the Universe" for a second season

Resumen

The "Big Bang Theory" spin-off starring Kevin Sussman has been ordered for a second season by HBO Max after just four episodes of its debut.

HBO Max announced a renewal of the single-camera comedy "Stuart Fails to Save the Universe" for a second season, the network said after the series premiered four episodes ago. The show, created by "Big Bang Theory" co-creators Chuck Lorre, Bill Prady and Zak Penn, follows comic-book store owner Stuart Bloom, played by Kevin Sussman, as he attempts to repair reality after a device built by Sheldon, Leonard and Howard triggers a multiverse crisis. He is joined by his girlfriend Denise (Lauren Lapkus), geologist friend Bert (Brian Posehn) and quantum-physicist Barry Kripke (John Ross Bowie), all reprising their roles from the parent series.

The series has already featured returning cast members from the original sitcom, including Kunal Nayyar as Raj, Kaley Cuoco as Penny, Melissa Rauch as Bernadette and Mayim Bialik as Amy, appearing in the first four episodes. Warner Bros. Television Group Chairman and CEO Channing Dungey said, "Chuck, Zak, and Bill delivered something truly special with 'Stuart Fails to Save the Universe' — a completely original take on one of the most beloved franchises of all time that captures the unique essence that made 'The Big Bang Theory' so special. It's been an absolute joy to see audiences embrace this next iteration so passionately, and we can't wait to continue exploring the multiverse in Season 2."
