Makhachev and Garry Make Weight for UFC 330 Title Fight in Philadelphia
Islam Makhachev and Ian Machado Garry both hit the 170-pound limit, confirming their welterweight title bout at UFC 330, while Mackenzie Dern and Gillian Robertson made weight for the strawweight championship.
Islam Makhachev and challenger Ian Machado Garry each weighed in at 170 pounds on Friday, securing their welterweight championship clash at UFC 330 in Philadelphia. The bout will be Makhachev's first defense of his second title and could place him among a select group of fighters who have defended UFC belts in two divisions.
Makhachev also aims to extend his winning streak to 17 fights, which would surpass Anderson Silva's record for most consecutive victories in UFC history. A backup fighter, Michael Morales, also made weight at 170 pounds and is prepared to step in if either competitor is unable to compete.
The co-main event features strawweight champion Mackenzie Dern defending her title against challenger Gillian Robertson, with both athletes weighing in at the 115-pound limit.
All 24 fighters scheduled for the event at Xfinity Mobile Arena made weight, except Chidi Njokuani, who initially weighed 171.5 pounds, 0.5 pounds over the welterweight non-title limit, but later re-weighed at 171 pounds after a second attempt.
The full UFC 330 card includes main-card matchups such as Jalin Turner vs. Kaue Fernandes and Edson Barboza vs. Esteban Ribovics, as well as several preliminary and early-preliminary bouts.
