Cornerback Terrion Arnold to join Seattle Seahawks after release from Lions
Former Detroit Lions first-round pick Terrion Arnold, who faces multiple felony charges, is set to sign with the Seattle Seahawks.
Terrion Arnold, a former first-round selection of the Detroit Lions, is expected to sign with the Seattle Seahawks, the reigning Super Bowl champions. The Lions released Arnold in June after he was arrested and is currently confronting eight felony counts. Arnold appeared in 24 games over two seasons with Detroit, starting 22, and recorded 91 tackles, 18 passes defended and one interception.
Lions head coach Sean Campbell said at the start of training camp, > "You never want to let go of a player, especially somebody that you’ve been around for a while here and you drafted and all that. And it’s unfortunate that we made the move we felt was best for us."
With Arnold's departure, Detroit plans to rely on D.J. Reed and Rock Ya-Sin as its primary cornerbacks, while Nick Whiteside and Ennis Rakestraw will serve as the main backups.
