Eagles training camp sees injuries, lineup updates and on-field altercation
Philadelphia held its 11th practice of the 2026 training camp, reporting several injuries, depth-chart adjustments and a physical confrontation between two linemen that halted the session early.
Philadelphia continued its 2026 training camp on Thursday with a practice that featured multiple injury updates and a notable on-field scuffle. Cornerbacks Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean remained on the injury report with glute and groin issues, while wide receivers DeVonta Smith and Makai Lemon missed their seventh consecutive session due to hamstring problems. Saquon Barkley appeared to tweak his left ankle late in the drill but stayed on the field, signing autographs after the session.
The depth chart saw Riq Woolen, Mac McWilliams and Michael Carter II start at cornerback, with McWilliams receiving additional reps on the outside and in the slot. Dontayvion Wicks and Hollywood Brown led the receiving group in 12-personnel sets, and Elijah Moore joined them in 11-personnel formations. Quarterbacks Tanner McKee and Andy Dalton split time, while Cole Payton earned limited second-team reps in 7-on-7 drills. The first-team offensive line featured Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens, Tyler Steen and Lane Johnson; the second team introduced John Ojukwu at guard for the first time.
A physical confrontation broke out between offensive tackle Fred Johnson and defensive tackle Moro Ojomo, resulting in both players being separated by teammates, coaches and security staff. The incident prompted head coach Nick Sirianni and general manager Howie Roseman to speak with the players afterward, emphasizing that competitiveness must not endanger participants. Practice concluded 13 minutes early at 11:17 a.m.
In the red zone, quarterback Jalen Hurts connected with tight end Dallas Goedert for a three-yard touchdown and later threw a quick pass to Dontayvion Wicks for another score. During 7-on-7 drills, Hurts threw an interception intended for Hollywood Brown, which was picked off by second-year cornerback Mac McWilliams. He later worked with Brown on the route that led to the turnover. Hurts also delivered a deep pass to Elijah Moore that missed the catch but demonstrated confidence in the middle of the field.
The second-team offense struggled to convert in the red zone, with Andy Dalton throwing the ball away on a third-and-goal after pressure from Byron Young and Ojomo. Their most successful play was a wheel route to running back Will Shipley. Saquon Barkley displayed burst on a running play before his ankle tweak, and a few drops were noted among receivers, including Hollywood Brown and Grant Calcaterra.
