Passenger Train Derails and Tips Over Near Lewes, England

Paramedics and fire crews were dispatched on Thursday after a passenger train near Lewes station in southern England derailed and came to rest on its side. Social-media images showed at least two carriages overturned, with emergency personnel and bystanders standing on the train. The East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service confirmed it was called to the incident and that other first responders were also on scene. No injuries were reported at the time.

Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander posted on X, expressing concern about the derailment and thanking emergency services for their assistance.
