Apple likely to hold September iPhone 18 Pro and Ultra event
Analysts expect Apple to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and a foldable iPhone Ultra in early September, with the exact date still uncertain.
Apple is anticipated to host its next iPhone launch event in early September, where it is expected to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and a new foldable model tentatively called the iPhone Ultra. The standard iPhone 18, a lower-priced iPhone 18e and the iPhone Air 2 are projected to be delayed until around March 2027 as part of a revised rollout plan.
An Australian outlet reported that the event could occur on Tuesday, Sept. 8, but historical patterns show Apple typically leaves at least a two-day gap after Labor Day, making a September 9 or later date more plausible. Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman has indicated the event will fall in the first half of September, with Sept. 15 cited as the latest likely date.
If the event is held on Sept. 14 or 15, pre-orders would probably start on Friday, Sept. 18, with device shipments slated for Friday, Sept. 25. It is unclear whether the iPhone Ultra will launch simultaneously with the Pro models or be limited to the U.S. initially.
Since 2020, Apple has pre-recorded its event videos, though recent presentations have included on-site reporters at the Steve Jobs Theater followed by hands-on sessions with the new phones. Historical data shows a consistent 14-day interval between the product announcement and the event for the past five iPhone releases.
