Teen sought after double homicide in Acton located by authorities

Résumé

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan confirmed that 17-year-old Arjun Aravind, wanted after two relatives were found dead in Acton, Massachusetts, has been found with no public safety threat.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan announced Wednesday that 17-year-old Arjun Aravind, who was missing after a woman and a teenage boy were discovered dead in a home on Martha Lane in Acton, has been located. The DA's office said there is no risk to public safety.

Police had also been searching for a green 2014 Honda Accord with Massachusetts plates "34PD94," believed to be driven by Arvanind. The vehicle was recovered overnight in Wayland and later towed to the Acton Police Department.

The investigation involved multiple agencies, including Berlin police, which searched the L.L.Bean area at Highland Commons after a cell-phone ping suggested the teen might have been there, but he was not found at that location.

Further details are expected during a 1 p.m. media briefing with DA Ryan and Acton Police Chief Douglas Sturniolo. The circumstances surrounding the deaths of the two family members have not been disclosed.

"As you can imagine, we're certainly trying to reach other members of the family," Ryan said. "People are trying to struggle to come to grips with what happened up there."
