Rare Nintendo cartridges discovered in Wisconsin may fetch millions at auction
Collectors have found nearly 100 previously unknown Nintendo Entertainment System cartridges in Waukesha, Wisconsin, including the first PSA 10-graded copies, and three are slated for auction this month.
Collectors in Waukesha, Wisconsin, uncovered a box containing almost 100 Nintendo Entertainment System cartridges, among them an undocumented version of "Super Mario Bros." and "Duck Hunt." The games were produced two years after the last known manufacturing run and feature distinct labels, screws, manuals and motherboards.
According to experts, some of the cartridges are in pristine condition and have received the first PSA 10 grades ever awarded to NES titles. The items were originally sent to a metal-recovery service for gold extraction, but the cartridges were not destroyed.
Three of the rare cartridges are scheduled for auction later this month, with estimates suggesting they could sell for millions of dollars.
