Raiders suspend Kirk Cousins and Maxx Crosby from Saturday practice after Friday altercation
Quarterback Kirk Cousins and defensive end Maxx Crosby were held out of Saturday's practice following a fight during Friday's session, with both expected to return Monday.
The Las Vegas Raiders announced that quarterback Kirk Cousins and defensive end Maxx Crosby will miss Saturday's practice after a confrontation during Friday's drill. Head coach Klint Kubiak said the players were excluded because their behavior violated team rules and emphasized the organization’s clear expectations for conduct. Both athletes are slated to rejoin the squad for Monday's activities. In Cousins' absence, first overall pick Fernando Mendoza received additional repetitions with the first-team offense during the drills.
"We have very clear expectations on how we want to practice and how we want to go about our business, and we violated that yesterday," Kubiak said, as reported by Ryan McFadden of ESPN.com.
