The Jacksonville Jaguars completed their opening camp scrimmage, featuring a strong defensive showing by rookie B.J. Green and notable offensive contributions from Parker Washington and the running back rotation.

Jacksonville, Fla. – The Jaguars wrapped up their first training-camp scrimmage on Friday at the Miller Electric Center, pitting the starting defense against the backup offense. Rookie defensive end B.J. Green recorded three sacks on backup quarterback Nick Mullens and two tackles for loss, drawing praise for his impact despite the offense facing largely third-string linemen.

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence connected with wide receiver Parker Washington on six passes, including two third-down catches and a touchdown, making Washington the most productive receiver in the session. Other offensive highlights included Jakobi Meyers’ third-down receptions, Brian Thomas Jr.’s touchdown catch, and a reliable performance from Brenton Strange.

The running back group rotated throughout the scrimmage: Bhayshul Tuten started the first drive, Chris Rodriguez Jr. began the second, and the backs alternated with LeQuint Allen on third-down situations. Both Tuten and Rodriguez posted positive runs, and Allen caught a touchdown pass from Lawrence.

Offensive line adjustments continued as Walker Little left early due to injury, prompting Wyatt Milum to shift to right tackle and Jonah Monheim to fill at right guard. Several linemen, including Little, Cole Van Lanen, Patrick Mekari and Emmanuel Pregnon, missed portions of practice, resulting in a backup line that struggled against the starting defense.

Cornerback Montaric Brown made a leaping interception off a deep pass from Mullens to J'Mari Taylor, marking the play of the day. The defense also forced a fumble recovered by Jalen Huskey.

Injury updates noted Little’s early exit, the absence of Mekari, Braswell, Van Lanen, Pregnon and defensive end Josh Hines-Allen (a planned rest), and a late-practice injury to tight end Quintin Morris. Ameer Abdullah produced a long run and a screen gain, while Travis Hunter showed solid coverage in limited action.

Coach Liam Coen confirmed the planned rest for Hines-Allen and emphasized the ongoing evaluation of line and backfield configurations as the team prepares for the regular season.
