Jaguars show offensive improvement and defensive highlights on Day 7 of training camp

Resumen

Jacksonville Jaguars displayed a more efficient passing attack and notable individual performances during the seventh day of training camp, while continuing to experiment with offensive line configurations.

Jacksonville, Fla. – The Jaguars completed a shortened practice on Thursday as part of Day 7 of their training camp, with a focus on refining the offense and evaluating depth on both sides of the ball. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence completed several 20-plus-yard passes to receivers including Brian Thomas Jr., Jakobi Meyers, Parker Washington, Brenton Strange and Tim Jones, and avoided turnovers, marking a marked improvement from earlier sessions.

The coaching staff continued to rotate offensive linemen to increase versatility. Right-side lineups featured various combinations of Wyatt Milum, Walker Little, and Emmanuel Pregnon, with Little receiving repeated assignments at guard, a position where he has performed well in recent drills.

Running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. received his most extensive workload of the camp, handling multiple carries and a short pass reception. He was particularly effective in short-yardage situations, consistently gaining positive yardage and helping the team advance from its own one-yard line.

On defense, weakside linebacker Ventrell Miller forced a fumble on a short pass to Ameer Abdullah and recovered the ball, a play that could influence the competition for a starting linebacker role alongside Branson Combs and Foyesade Oluokun. Rookie wide receiver Josh Cameron also made a contested deep catch down the left sideline, highlighting his continued development.

Additional observations included strong performances from defensive linemen Albert Regis and Zach Durfee, speed demonstrated by J'Mari Taylor, and an interception by undrafted cornerback Preston Hodge during team drills. Secondary players Antonio Johnson and Jabbar Muhammad recorded multiple pass breakups.
