Ohio Ticket Wins $1 Million in Powerball as Jackpot Rolls Over

Resumen

An Ohio ticket matched five numbers to win $1 million in the Powerball drawing, while the $786 million jackpot went unclaimed and is set to increase for the next draw.

An Ohio-sold Powerball ticket matched five of the six numbers drawn on Aug. 5 and earned a $1 million prize, according to the game’s official website. The Ohio Lottery did not disclose the location of the winning ticket.

The winning numbers were 14-20-59-60-61 with Powerball 25. In addition, 20 tickets matched four numbers plus the Powerball, each receiving $50,000; three of those were Power Play tickets, which doubled the payout.

Lottery officials said the grand prize’s estimated cash value for the drawing was $341.6 million, the ninth-largest in Powerball history. With no jackpot winner, the prize is expected to rise to about $856 million, or $372 million in cash, for the next drawing on Aug. 8.

The jackpot’s last win occurred on May 2, when two tickets in Florida and Texas split a $20 million prize, marking 40 consecutive drawings without a jackpot winner. Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the United Kingdom.
