Google's Pixel Watch 5 specs leak ahead of August launch

Marketing materials and a detailed spec sheet for Google's upcoming Pixel Watch 5 have been leaked ahead of the company's hardware event in New York on August 12. The documents, obtained by MyMobiles in partnership with OnLeaks, confirm that the new smartwatch will retain most design elements of the Pixel Watch 4 while adding 64 GB of internal storage, double that of the prior model, and modestly larger batteries.

The leak lists two case sizes—41 mm and 45 mm—with a thickness of 12.3 mm and weights of 31 g and 36.7 g respectively. Both variants use a 360 × 320 ppi LTPO AMOLED display capable of up to 3,000 nits brightness and a 1–60 Hz refresh rate, protected by custom 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The watch is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 chipset with a Cortex-M55 coprocessor.

Battery capacity increases from 332 mAh to 465 mAh, translating to up to 40 hours of use with an always-on display and up to 72 hours in battery-saver mode. Charging times are estimated at 50 % in about 15 minutes and a full charge in roughly an hour. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 6.0, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, ultra-wideband and satellite SOS, with two years of satellite SOS service provided at no extra cost.

Sensors such as optical heart-rate, SpO₂, ECG, skin conductance, temperature, altimeter, barometer and compass are retained, along with features like one-handed touchless gestures, a haptic crown and third-generation haptics. The device will run Wear OS 7.0 and continue to support Google Health functions such as Gemini access, sleep tracking and the Morning Brief.

Pricing is expected to be higher than the Pixel Watch 4, though exact figures have not been disclosed. Compatibility with existing Pixel Watch 4 straps and screen protectors appears to be maintained. Google is slated to officially unveil the Pixel Watch 5 alongside the Pixel 11 smartphone series on August 12.
