The Powerball jackpot reached an estimated $748 million with a cash option of $325.1 million for the draw on Aug. 3, after three months without a winner.

The Powerball jackpot rose to an estimated $748 million, with a cash value of $325.1 million, for the drawing held on Monday, Aug. 3. The prize has been increasing since May after no ticket matched all six numbers for three consecutive months. The previous jackpot was split between tickets sold in Texas and Florida on May 2, when the prize was $20 million.

The winning numbers for the Aug. 3 draw were 8, 30, 41, 48, 54 and the Powerball 4, with a 2x "Power Play" multiplier. The next drawing is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 5, at approximately 10:59 p.m. ET and will be streamed on the Powerball website.

Powerball tickets cost $2 and are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, with online purchase options available in some jurisdictions. Players select five numbers from 1 to 69 and a red Powerball from 1 to 26, or can opt for a Quick Pick. An additional $1 "Power Play" option can increase non-jackpot prizes by a factor of 2, 3, 4, 5, or 10.

"Anyone, regardless of nationality, can purchase lottery tickets from an authorized retailer if they meet the legal age requirement," a Powerball spokesperson said.

The draw marks a new phase for the game as Powerball plans to expand into the United Kingdom, potentially adding millions of new participants to future drawings.
