Apple releases iOS 27 Beta 5 with new features and weekly beta schedule

Resumen

Apple launched iOS 27 Beta 5, adding a redesigned Find My app, Spotlight enhancements, a refreshed Siri interface, and performance gains, while moving to a weekly beta release cadence ahead of the September 14 public launch.

Apple rolled out iOS 27 Beta 5 on August 3, introducing a series of interface updates and performance improvements as the company prepares for the operating system’s public release in mid-September. The update redesigns the Find My app with a liquid-glass style navigation bar, restores memory functionality to Spotlight search, and gives Siri a more transparent visual layout. Select apps now show receipts for Apple Pay transactions, enhancing purchase transparency.

Benchmark testing with Geekbench 6 shows multi-core scores averaging 10,000 and single-core scores around 3,834, indicating smoother operation for demanding tasks. Battery efficiency is also reported to be higher, extending usage time without sacrificing performance.

Apple announced a shift from a bi-weekly to a weekly beta release cadence. Beta 5 arrived on August 3, followed by Beta 6 on August 10, Beta 7 on August 17, and Beta 8 on August 24, with a release candidate expected around September 7-8, ahead of the final iOS 27 launch slated for September 14.

The changes aim to give developers more frequent builds for testing and feedback, allowing Apple to address issues before the official rollout.
