Three killed, including an employee, in shooting at Idaho In-N-Out Burger

Résumé

A shooting at an In-N-Out Burger in Twin Falls, Idaho, left three people dead and seven injured, authorities said, while police continue to investigate the suspect's identity and motive.

A shooting at an In-N-Out Burger restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, resulted in three fatalities, including a restaurant employee, and wounded seven others, according to the fast-food chain’s owner. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. on Saturday, shortly after the location opened on July 24 as part of the chain’s expansion into the state.

Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks told a news conference that investigators are still working to identify the shooter and determine a motive, but he said the immediate threat to the community appears to have ended. Police found the suspected gunman’s body near the restaurant, though officials have not confirmed whether the suspect is included in the death toll.

The FBI has asked the public to submit any images or video of the shooting. Witnesses described a chaotic scene in a busy shopping plaza, with an individual emerging from the drive-through holding an AR-style rifle and a separate person firing a pistol at the shooter. Several victims were transported to St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center, with some in critical condition.

In-N-Out owner Lynsi Snyder released a statement expressing condolences for the victims and their families. Twin Falls spokesperson Josh Palmer said officials are still notifying relatives and have not released further details about those injured.

A second police briefing is scheduled for Sunday afternoon as investigators continue to interview witnesses and gather evidence.
