Truth Social introduces paid API delivering real-time Trump posts to financial firms

Résumé

Trump Media's new subscription service provides Wall Street firms with a high-speed feed of President Donald Trump's Truth Social posts, prompting calls for an SEC review.

A subscription service launched on Saturday gives financial firms and other organizations access to President Donald Trump’s Truth Social posts before they appear to the general public. The product, called “Truth API,” is described by Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) as a “direct, licensed, real-time feed of the platform’s most market-moving Truths.”

Trump, who has about 13 million followers on the platform, frequently uses Truth Social to announce policy changes, tariff decisions and military actions, a practice that differs from the more formal communication channels used by previous presidents. While many trading firms already receive his posts through services such as Bloomberg and Reuters, the new feed could deliver the information seconds or even milliseconds earlier, a potential advantage for high-frequency traders.

The service also benefits the company’s owner; Trump holds roughly 41 % of TMTG’s shares, according to his 2025 financial disclosure. Senators Elizabeth Warren and Adam Schiff have asked the Securities and Exchange Commission to examine whether the subscription violates securities laws, stating that it may constitute “an outrageous abuse of the President’s office for his personal benefit.”

In a press release announcing the service, interim CEO Kevin McGurn said, “Markets already move on Truth Social posts. Truth API delivers a direct, licensed, real-time feed of the platform’s most market-moving Truths while advancing our strategy to monetize proprietary assets through a high-margin, recurring revenue stream.”
