Powerball jackpot climbs to $748 million after no top prize hit Saturday

Resumen

No ticket matched all six numbers in Saturday's Powerball draw, raising the jackpot to an estimated $748 million for Monday, while three tickets in California each won $809,204.

The Powerball drawing on Saturday did not produce a jackpot winner, pushing the estimated prize for the next draw to $748 million. The numbers drawn were 6, 17, 27, 48, 50 with the Powerball 5, and the jackpot had been estimated at $707 million before the roll-over.

Three California tickets matched five of the six numbers but missed the Powerball. Each of those tickets is worth $809,204. The winning tickets were sold at a Chevron gas station on West Olympic Boulevard in Sawtelle, Los Angeles, another gas station in Pleasanton, and a market in Fresno County.

The Multi-State Lottery Association, which runs the game, noted that the Saturday draw was the 39th consecutive drawing without a jackpot winner. The odds of matching all five numbers plus the Powerball are 1 in 292.2 million, while the overall chance of winning any prize is 1 in 24.9.

Powerball is offered in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
