Summary

A shooting at an In-N-Out Burger restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, left several people dead and others injured, with the shooter also among the victims.

Police said a shooting at an In-N-Out Burger restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, on Saturday afternoon resulted in multiple deaths and injuries. Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks told a news conference that the shooter was among those killed and that authorities were still working to identify the gunman and determine a motive. He added that the immediate threat to the community had ended, though the exact number of victims was still being confirmed.

Witnesses described a chaotic scene. One bystander reported seeing a person with an AR-style rifle emerge from the drive-thru while a man with a pistol fired at the shooter. An employee in a uniform was seen being dragged away with a gunshot wound to the chest. Another witness said a man in black approached a vehicle, opened the driver’s side door, and accessed the trunk before fleeing.

Twin Falls County Commissioner Brent Reinke said Sheriff Jack Johnson informed him that five people were injured. Several victims were transported to St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center, where hospital spokesperson Taylor Marschner said staff were cooperating with law-enforcement and emergency responders.

Authorities urged the public to avoid the area as roads were closed and investigators continued to interview witnesses and collect information.
