Patriots practice highlights include strong showing by Romeo Doubs and A.J. Brown

Summary

New England Patriots held their seventh full-pad training camp session on Saturday, with notable performances from receivers Romeo Doubs and A.J. Brown, as well as interceptions by defensive backs Dell Pettus and Karon Prunty.

The New England Patriots conducted their seventh full-pad practice on Saturday, featuring a moderate intensity as several veteran players were managed. Wide receiver Romeo Doubs led all of quarterback Drake Maye’s targets, catching five passes during 7-on-7 and full-team drills, after a previous day in which he secured a touchdown reception. Doubs also briefly placed the ball on the ground at the end of a play, but overall the session was positive for the 26-year-old.

A.J. Brown also displayed strong chemistry with Maye, catching all three of his targets, including a contested catch against defender Christian Gonzalez before leaving the practice early for rest. Safety Dell Pettus intercepted a pass intended for Mack Hollins, and rookie cornerback Karon Prunty recorded a second interception on a deep ball to Cameron Dorner.

Other contributors included rookie wide receivers Kyle Williams and Efton Chism III, who each added receptions from Maye and Tommy DeVito, and sophomore kicker Andy Borregales, who attempted five field goals, converting four and improving his summer total to 21 of 23.

The Patriots will pause practice on Sunday and resume with their eighth camp session on Monday, with gates opening at 9:15 a.m. ET and practice beginning about an hour later.
