Sid Wilson Removed from Slipknot, Band Declines to Comment

DJ and keyboardist Sid Wilson was reportedly dismissed from Slipknot on Friday, July 31, according to a source cited by TMZ. The source said Wilson was informed late in the afternoon that his membership in the nine-member lineup had been terminated permanently. No reason for the removal has been provided, and both the band and Wilson have remained silent on the matter. Representatives for Slipknot did not respond to requests for comment.

Wilson joined Slipknot in 1998, completing the group’s iconic roster that included members such as Corey Taylor, Jim Root, Mick Thomson, Craig Jones, Chris Fehn, Shawn "Clown" Crahan and the late Joey Jordison and Paul Gray. He adopted the number zero to symbolize a clean slate within the band’s numbered mask system. Slipknot, formed in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1995, first released a self-titled album in 1999 on Roadrunner Records.
