Sid Wilson Removed from Slipknot After Over Two Decades with Band
Turntablist Sid Wilson was informed on July 31 that he is no longer a member of Slipknot, ending his involvement with the group since 1998. The reasons for his dismissal have not been disclosed.
Sid Wilson, who performed as the turntablist and sound effects specialist for Slipknot under the stage name #0, was told on Friday, July 31, that his association with the Iowa-based metal band had been terminated. A source with direct knowledge of the situation confirmed the dismissal to a media outlet, but did not provide details on the cause.
Wilson had been part of Slipknot since 1998, contributing to the group's recordings and live shows. He also performed occasionally under the moniker DJ Starscream, a reference to a character from the Transformers franchise, and suffered a notable injury in 2008 when he broke both heels during a stage dive on the "All Hope Is Gone" tour.
His personal life has been publicized, including a relationship with Kelly Osbourne that began in 2022, the birth of their son Sidney in November 2022, an engagement announced in July 2025, and a reported split earlier this year. No connection between these events and his departure from Slipknot has been established.
