Packers Day 3 training camp sees return of Tucker Kraft and notable plays
Green Bay's third practice featured tight end Tucker Kraft's first session after an ACL tear, multiple scoring catches by Christian Watson and strong defensive displays.
Green Bay held its third training-camp practice on Friday, with the longest session of the week and the first on-field action for tight end Tucker Kraft since tearing his ACL in November. Kraft participated in blocking drills but did not run routes as the team eases him back toward full participation.
Christian Watson caught two touchdowns, a 9-yard out route and a 3-yard slant, after missing last season’s camp while recovering from his own ACL injury. The wide receiver, who signed a four-year extension in June, remains a key target for quarterback Jordan Love.
New cornerback Benjamin St-Juste intercepted a Tyrod Taylor pass, marking his first impact play in Green Bay after joining on a two-year free-agent deal. Fellow cornerback Keisean Nixon also made several pass breakups during a one-minute drill.
Wide receiver Matthew Golden recorded a 20-yard fade catch and an 18-yard leaping reception, which coaches described as the best catch of camp so far. Rookie tight end Luke Musgrave and other players continued to work through individual drills.
The Packers also added long snapper Cal Adomitis to replace the injured Matt Orzech and introduced wide receiver Kaden Prather to the roster.
"The biggest news coming out of Green Bay today is the return of Tucker Kraft from injury," head coach Matt LaFleur said at the pre-practice press conference.
The practice concluded without full pads, which are scheduled to be introduced next week. The team will have Saturday off before resuming drills on Sunday.
