Giants outfielder Harrison Bader ruled out for season after scooter accident worsens foot injury

Resumen

San Francisco Giants outfielder Harrison Bader will miss the rest of the 2026 season after a scooter crash aggravated his existing foot condition, team officials said.

San Francisco Giants outfielder Harrison Bader has been declared out for the remainder of the 2026 MLB season after a scooter accident early Sunday morning aggravated a pre-existing foot injury. The 32-year-old was scheduled to see a specialist in Indianapolis for plantar fasciitis when the incident occurred, prompting an MRI to evaluate the new damage.

According to a report by the San Francisco Chronicle, Bader was involved in a vehicle collision while riding a scooter in the Marina District around 2 a.m. and was taken to a local hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening, according to statements from the San Francisco Fire and Police Departments.

"Bader will miss the remainder of the season," Giants manager Tony Vitello said before Thursday’s game in San Diego.

Bader has not played for the Giants since May 29, when he first went on the injured list for the foot issue, and he also missed about a month earlier in the season with a hamstring strain. Since signing a two-year, $20.5 million contract last offseason, he has appeared in only 30 games, posting a .170/.198/.358 slash line with five home runs and 14 RBIs.
