State Department to Expand Sale of Limited-Edition Trump-Themed Passports Nationwide
The U.S. State Department will begin offering limited-edition passports featuring President Donald Trump's portrait at 27 passport agencies across the country starting next month.
The State Department announced that limited-edition passports bearing a portrait of President Donald Trump will be made available at 27 passport agencies nationwide beginning next month. Previously limited to the Washington, D.C., office, the special documents will be issued during one-day events at locations including Centennial, Colorado; Chicago; Dallas; Detroit; New Orleans; New York; and Stamford, Connecticut, with additional sites to be added later.
Applicants must appear in person on the designated day listed on the department’s website; separate days will be scheduled for standard passport applications. The commemorative passport, described by the department as a “patriot passport,” will feature Trump’s image and a gold-laminated imprint of his signature on an interior page, with a gold-print cover and a small gold flag and the number 250 encircled by stars on the back cover.
Trump is the first living president to appear on a U.S. passport. Current passports display the faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln as part of a Mount Rushmore illustration, along with symbols such as the Statue of Liberty, the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, and quotations from historic figures.
The State Department plans to produce more than 250,000 of the limited-edition passports nationwide.
