Saints agree to four-year extension with wide receiver Chris Olave

Résumé

New Orleans signed Chris Olave to a four-year, $132 million contract through 2030 after his rookie season, despite recent health concerns.

The New Orleans Saints have reached a four-year extension with wide receiver Chris Olave, valued at $132 million and running through the 2030 season. Olave, who is entering the final year of his rookie deal, posted a second 1,100-yard receiving season in the past three years and finished sixth in the league with 151 targets last season.

Olave missed part of the offseason program while on blood-thinners prescribed after a lung blood clot was discovered late in the 2025 season. He is expected to discontinue the medication within two weeks and resume unrestricted football activities. Saints head coach Kellen Moore said Olave had an “awesome” offseason, and quarterback Tyler Shough noted the receiver looked “better than I’ve ever seen him,” maintaining his speed and change of direction.

Team officials indicated that contract talks are progressing, with Olave expressing confidence that an agreement will be reached before training camp. The extension comes as the Saints evaluate long-term risk associated with Olave’s concussion history, but his production and role as the team’s primary pass-catcher support the investment.
