Ben Affleck and Jamie Ding win $1 million for charity on ABC’s “Who Wants To Be a Millionaire”

Summary

Actor Ben Affleck and former “Jeopardy!” champion Jamie Ding correctly answered the final question on ABC’s game show, securing a $1 million prize for the Eastern Congo Initiative.

Actor Ben Affleck and former "Jeopardy!" champion Jamie Ding appeared on Wednesday’s episode of ABC’s "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire," hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, and won the top prize for charity. After a deliberation on a question about U.S. presidents’ pardoned turkeys, the pair selected the correct answer and celebrated the victory.

The $1 million prize will be donated to the Eastern Congo Initiative, a nonprofit co-founded by Affleck in 2010 to support communities in the Democratic Republic of Congo. > "And right now, of course, as I’m sure most people know, there’s an Ebola crisis there," Affleck said on the program, "and so this is in large part designed to try to relieve that, contain the spread of Ebola."

Ding, who holds the fifth-longest winning streak in "Jeopardy!" history with 31 consecutive games, partnered with Affleck for the charity round. The episode aired a week after news of Affleck’s mother’s death from pancreatic cancer.
