Glen Hansard performed unreleased song hours before fatal crash in Dublin
Footage shows Irish musician Glen Hansard singing an apparently unreleased song at the Wren’s Nest pub in Dublin shortly before he died in a motorcycle accident.
Video released by Irish broadcaster RTE shows Glen Hansard playing an acoustic guitar and singing a previously unheard song at the Wren’s Nest pub in the Strawberry Beds area of Dublin. The performance took place just hours before the musician was killed in a motorcycle crash on Wednesday night. The lyrics include lines such as “Everything that could have been done has been tried and failed” and “I’ll scream until I’m hoarse / You’ll find your way of course,” followed by a second guitarist joining for the final verses. The song concluded with applause from the audience. Hansard, who began his career busking on Dublin streets before forming the band the Frames and the duo the Swell Season, had previously won an Academy Award for the song he wrote for the film "Once."
