Jaguars show offensive spark and rookie progress on Day 2 of training camp

Jacksonville, Fla. – The Jaguars' second day of training camp saw a more even exchange between offense and defense compared with the opening day, indicating early development progress. Wide receiver Parker Washington emerged as the most impactful offensive player, making multiple big catches, including a sideline route against backup cornerback Keni-H Lovely and an acrobatic downfield grab that beat starting cornerback Montaric Brown. His chemistry with quarterback Trevor Lawrence was evident, with Washington becoming Lawrence's most frequent target among top-depth receivers.

Second-year cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter continued to receive significant reps on both sides of the ball as he recovers from last season’s injury, catching a deep sideline pass in team drills and drawing coverage attention, though he also had a pass broken up by rookie cornerback Devon Marshall Jr.

The rookie class also stood out, with players such as Parker Hughes, Jalen Huskey, Josh Cameron, Zach Durfee and Tanner Koziol making notable plays. Koziol recorded a leaping catch downfield that drew a strong reaction from the crowd.

Running back Bhayshul Tuten maintained his consistent performance, receiving the majority of early reps and delivering big gains despite the defense’s overall success in limiting runs.

Defensively, the unit recorded an interception by Ventrell Miller during 7-on-7 drills, while a potential interception by Rayuan Lane was nullified due to a defensive pass-interference call. Linebacker Jack Kiser was listed as week-to-week with a right-knee injury, and veteran cornerback Jourdan Lewis returned to practice, posting two pass break-ups.

Special teams saw kicker Cam Little convert all four field-goal attempts during the session.
