Eagles executives discuss defensive line depth, quarterback competition and roster outlook at camp press conference

Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman and head coach Nick Sirianni fielded media questions on the first day of training camp, highlighting several roster topics. Roseman said the team views interior defensive line talent as scarce and emphasized the importance of extending Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis to maintain strength at the position. He added that the organization has no off-field concerns regarding Carter, noting the player’s work ethic and the contract’s focus on future performance.

Sirianni confirmed that the backup quarterback role remains a competition between Tanner McKee and Andy Dalton, stating that both players push each other to improve. Roseman also addressed defensive end Jonathan Greenard’s injury, describing it as non-serious and expecting him to be ready for the regular season.

Finally, Roseman described the roster as a “work in progress,” indicating that the front office will continue to explore trade and free-agent options throughout the season to enhance the team.
