Ben Affleck and Jamie Ding win $1 million for charity on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire

Résumé

Actor Ben Affleck and Jeopardy! champion Jamie Ding correctly answered the final question on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, securing a $1 million prize for Affleck’s Eastern Congo Initiative.

Actor Ben Affleck teamed with Jeopardy! champion Jamie Ding on Wednesday’s episode of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and answered the final question correctly, earning a $1 million prize for charity. The pair faced a question about which turkey names had not been pardoned by a U.S. president, choosing between four options. They used host Jimmy Kimmel as a lifeline, and after deliberation selected "Spaghetti & Meatball" as their answer. The answer was confirmed correct, and the contestants received a check for the full amount. The donation will be directed to Affleck’s Eastern Congo Initiative, a foundation he co-founded in 2009 to support community projects in eastern Congo.

"I would bet on Jimmy," Affleck said during the decision. "I would go for it," he added.

The win follows a similar top-prize victory by Affleck’s former co-star Matt Damon a year earlier.
