Taysom Hill Confirms He Will Not Return to New Orleans Saints
The former Saints versatile player announced he will not rejoin the team, and the franchise released a tribute video narrated by Drew Brees.
Taysom Hill issued a statement on Wednesday indicating that a return to the New Orleans Saints is not forthcoming, adding that his future in the NFL remains uncertain. He thanked the city, fans, organization and teammates for their support.
The Saints responded with a video tribute narrated by franchise legend Drew Brees, highlighting Hill’s nine-year tenure after entering the league as an undrafted free agent. The video noted Hill’s background as a BYU quarterback and his occasional starts for New Orleans, where he posted a 7-2 record as a starter in the 2020 and 2021 seasons.
Over his career, Hill recorded 12 touchdown passes against nine interceptions and accumulated 45 combined rushing and receiving touchdowns, including nine each in 2020 and 2022. His versatility allowed him to line up as a quarterback, runner, and pass-catching tight end, making him a frequent goal-line option for the Saints.
Approaching his 36th birthday, Hill finished the most recent season with a single touchdown, and it is unclear whether he will sign with another team for the upcoming campaign.
