Powerball jackpot climbs to $663 million for Wednesday drawing in Delaware

Résumé

No ticket matched Monday's numbers, raising the Powerball prize to an estimated $663 million, with tickets on sale until 9:45 p.m. Wednesday in Delaware.

The Powerball jackpot has risen to an estimated $663 million after Monday's drawing produced no winner. The drawing, which featured the numbers 6, 26, 46, 58 and 65 with Powerball 25, also had a Power Play multiplier of 2. The cash option for the prize is projected at $290.4 million before taxes, while the advertised amount would be paid as a 30-year annuity.

Tickets can be purchased from authorized Delaware Lottery retailers until 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday, with the drawing scheduled for 10:59 p.m. The $2 play allows players to choose five numbers from 1 to 69 and a Powerball number from 1 to 26; an additional $1 adds the Power Play feature, which can increase non-jackpot winnings.

The odds of hitting the jackpot remain about 1 in 292.2 million, and the odds of winning any prize are roughly 1 in 24.9. Winners must claim their tickets within one year of the draw, and players must be at least 18 years old.

"The jackpot has been growing since May 2, when tickets sold in Florida and Texas split a $20 million prize," the Delaware Lottery noted.

The announcement follows a recent $803 million Mega Millions win in Florida, which had a cash value of $345.5 million. The Delaware Lottery also provides resources for responsible gambling, including a helpline for those concerned about problem gambling.
