Poll shows majority of Americans say President Trump neglects nation’s key problems

सारांश

A CNN/SSRS poll finds 73% of U.S. adults believe President Trump is not focusing enough on the country’s most important issues, while his overall approval sits at 34%.

A CNN-conducted poll by SSRS indicates that 73% of American adults think President Donald Trump has not paid sufficient attention to the nation’s most pressing problems, and only 27% say his priorities are correct. The survey also shows Trump’s overall approval rating at 34%, matching the low he recorded at the end of his first term, with just 15% expressing strong approval.

Two-thirds of respondents believe the president’s policies have worsened economic conditions, and a similar share says his military decisions regarding Iran have harmed the United States. About 75% feel he is out of touch with everyday concerns of ordinary Americans.

Among Republicans, approval has fallen to 78%, and only 19% describe themselves as enthusiastic about the remainder of his second term, down from 38% in the spring.

Issue-specific ratings are low: 28% approve of his handling of the Iran situation, 25% of his approach to inflation, and 21% of his management of gas prices. Only roughly one-quarter of the public believes Trump has a clear plan for the ongoing conflict in Iran, compared with 40% at the war’s outset.

Economic impacts of the Iran conflict are also reflected in public sentiment. Seventy-four percent say rising gas prices have caused them hardship, and 71% think the president has not done enough to lower everyday costs.

The president’s highest approval rating among policy areas is 41% for voting-rights and election-integrity issues, while 39% approve of his immigration policies and 35% his handling of the federal government.

Public opinion on high-profile projects in Washington, D.C., is largely negative: 58% express dissatisfaction or anger over construction efforts such as a new White House ballroom and Reflecting Pool renovations, with only 17% holding a positive view.

Regarding potential conflicts of interest, 57% consider it a negative that Trump earned more than $2 billion while in office, and more than six in ten believe he has pursued personal business interests too far during his presidency. Among Republicans, 43% view the construction projects favorably, while the majority are indifferent or view his earnings as irrelevant.

Overall, the poll reflects broad skepticism across the electorate about Trump’s focus, policy decisions, and personal projects.
