Former UFC contender Anthony Smith arrested on three felony charges in Nebraska
Former mixed-martial-arts fighter Anthony Smith was booked into a Nebraska county jail on felony charges of terroristic threats, first-degree false imprisonment and domestic violence causing serious bodily injury.
Anthony Smith, 38, a former light-heavyweight title challenger in the UFC, was taken into custody on Monday evening and booked into a county jail in Nebraska. He faces three felony counts: terroristic threats, first-degree false imprisonment and domestic-violence causing serious bodily injury.
"The domestic-violence charge can carry a maximum sentence of 20 years, while the other two counts each allow for up to three years in prison," a legal analyst explained. Smith, who left the UFC after a loss in April 2025, previously competed for Jorge Masvidal's Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA earlier this year, winning by first-round stoppage. He has not yet appeared before a judge and no bond has been set.
