Suri Cruise legally changes surname to Noelle, citing mother’s middle name
Suri, the 20-year-old daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, has legally dropped her father's last name, adopting the middle name of her mother as her new surname.
Suri, the daughter of actor Tom Cruise and former actress Katie Holmes, has reportedly changed her legal name from Suri Cruise to Suri Noelle. The change, filed in New York, replaces her father's surname with "Noelle," which is Holmes' middle name.
Court records in Pennsylvania show that Suri registered to vote under the new name in October 2024, indicating the change was finalized sometime before that date. She is currently a student at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
The name change follows years of limited public appearances with her father; Cruise has not been photographed with Suri since their 2012 divorce, and both parents have kept the matter private.
"Suri Noelle" was also used at her high school graduation ceremony in June 2024, according to reports.
No public comment has been made by either parent regarding the name change.
