Eric Roberts says he missed daughter Emma's Idaho wedding

Actor Eric Roberts confirmed he skipped his daughter Emma Roberts' wedding in Sun Valley, Idaho, on Saturday. In a statement to Page Six, he said, "I love my daughter, always have, always will. It is perfectly wonderful for her to celebrate however she wants, with whomever she wants."

Emma Roberts married Cody John at John’s family estate in Sun Valley after four years of dating, with the ceremony lasting about 45 minutes in 95-degree weather. The bride, 35, was escorted down the aisle by her five-year-old son Rhodes, and wore a custom vintage-inspired Monique Lhuillier dress. The groom wore a classic black tuxedo. Guests, including several A-list actors and Emma’s aunt Julia Roberts, attended the event.

Eric Roberts was photographed leaving a Los Angeles gym the day after the wedding, hundreds of miles from the ceremony. He has previously spoken about a complicated relationship with his daughter, noting that outside observers often misinterpret their dynamic. In a recent interview, he said their relationship is "only complicated through outside eyes … because they don’t get any of it."
