Apple Music page of singer D4vd hacked, fake track posted during preliminary hearing
A counterfeit song was uploaded to D4vd's Apple Music profile while the artist remains in custody awaiting a preliminary hearing on murder and other charges.
A counterfeit track titled "I DID IT" was posted to the Apple Music profile of singer David Anthony Burke, known as D4vd, while he remains incarcerated awaiting a preliminary hearing in Los Angeles. The song, which mimics Burke's vocal style, references a woman named Celeste Rivas and includes imagery of a Tesla that was reportedly towed from a location linked to the case.
Prosecutors have presented evidence linking Burke to the death of Celeste Rivas, including text messages indicating conflict between the two and testimony that each had the other's name tattooed. Burke has pleaded not guilty to charges that include murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14 and unlawful mutilation of human remains. The preliminary hearing is set to continue this week.
"Prosecutors spent the past week laying out evidence they claim connects D4vd to Celeste's killing," a court report noted.
The unauthorized upload appears to be an attempt to exploit the high-profile nature of the case, but Burke has no access to his music accounts while in custody.
