DC Universe unveils new "Lanterns" trailer at San Diego Comic-Con
The upcoming DC series "Lanterns" premiered its latest trailer at Comic-Con, confirming an August 16 debut on HBO Max and revealing plot details and cast members.
The DC Universe presented a new trailer for the upcoming series "Lanterns" during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con. The footage offers the first clear look at the show's storyline, which follows Green Lantern Hal Jordan and John Stewart as they investigate a series of murders that may be linked to the Manhunters. The trailer also introduces Sinestro, portrayed by Ulrich Thomsen, who taunts Hal about John serving as his replacement.
The Comic-Con panel featured actors Kyle Chandler (Hal Jordan), Aaron Pierre (John Stewart), Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, as well as series co-creators Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof and Tom King. The series is scheduled to premiere on HBO Max on August 16.
"We’re excited to finally bring these characters to life and share a glimpse of the world we’ve built," said co-creator Damon Lindelof.
The announcement follows a 15-year gap since the last Green Lantern film, which starred Ryan Reynolds in 2011.
