The Seinfeld actor confirmed a $15,000 contribution to a child-marriage advocacy group following his public apology to Courtney Stodden for a 2012 comedy sketch that depicted her as a minor.

Jason Alexander has taken steps to address criticism from former co-star Courtney Stodden over a 2012 Funny or Die sketch. In the segment, Alexander’s character repeatedly touched Stodden’s breasts while she was 17, prompting Stodden to label the scene inappropriate and to call for accountability.

Stodden, who later became an advocate against marriage under the age of 18, posted a screenshot of the sketch and wrote that she lacked the legal capacity to consent at the time. Alexander responded, acknowledging the sketch was inappropriate and expressing regret for any distress caused.

According to reports, Alexander donated $15,000 to the organization that campaigns to ban child marriage. His publicist confirmed the donation but declined to discuss the amount further.

"Looking back at the comedy sketch in which Ms. Stodden and I participated in 2012, I completely agree that it was inappropriate and I truly regret it," Alexander said. "But more importantly, I am deeply sorry for any harm or distress it has caused Ms. Stodden. I offer her my sincerest apologies."
