The Florida Department of Health confirmed 154 cases of cyclosporiasis, with Miami-Dade County accounting for the highest number in the state.

The Florida Department of Health said 154 cases of cyclosporiasis have been confirmed statewide, along with four suspected infections. Miami-Dade County reported the largest share with 33 confirmed cases, followed by Broward County with 13 and Monroe County with one.

State officials indicated that 98 of the infections were acquired within Florida, while the remaining cases were linked to exposure elsewhere in the United States or abroad.

The update follows a voluntary recall by Taylor Farms of iceberg lettuce sourced from central Mexico, which the company said could be linked to the multistate outbreak. The recall covers 25 shredded lettuce and salad-mix products sold under eight brand codes and shipped to 27 states, including Florida, with production dates as recent as July 16 and "best by" dates through August 3.

"The recalled products were shipped as recently as July 16 and have ‘best by’ dates as late as Aug. 3," the company stated.

Health authorities continue to advise washing hands and fresh produce thoroughly before consumption.
