Tyreek Hill Says He Lacks Power in Injured Left Leg Amid Recovery
Former Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill, still recovering from a dislocated knee and torn ligaments, said he currently has no power in his left leg and faces an uncertain timeline for a return to play.
Tyreek Hill, who was released by the Miami Dolphins after four seasons, told reporters he currently has "no power" in his left leg following extensive surgery to repair a dislocated knee, torn ACL and LCL suffered in Week 4 of the 2025 season. The 32-year-old receiver said he is focusing on recovery at home with his family and has not ruled out retirement.
Hill’s agent, Jeff Rosenhaus, said the player is "progressing well" in his rehabilitation and hopes to be ready for the 2026 season, though a one-year contract is expected if a team signs him. The Dolphins carry a $51.1 million cap hit for Hill through 2026 and could save up to $23 million by releasing him, according to league reports.
NFL analysts note that Hill’s future role is uncertain; his injury history and age suggest he may return as a depth receiver rather than a primary target. The receiver has not yet discussed terms with any team, and his availability for training camp remains in doubt.
"We would love to get together with the front office after the season and figure something out that works for both sides," Rosenhaus said.
Medical updates indicate no nerve damage or cartilage issues, but the complexity of the surgery means a full return to form is not guaranteed. Hill’s contract runs through 2026, and he indicated he will consider retirement once his recovery is complete.
