Pixel Watch 5 likely to retain chip but gain extra RAM

Resumen

Leaks suggest the upcoming Pixel Watch 5 will keep the same Snapdragon processor as previous models while increasing memory to 3 GB, and it appears to retain the prior design.

A listing on the Google Play Console for the upcoming Pixel Watch 5, codenamed “godric,” indicates the device will use the Qualcomm SW5100 chip, the same platform employed in the Pixel Watch 2, 3 and 4. The processor specifications remain unchanged with a 4-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU running at 1.7 GHz and a Qualcomm Adreno 702 GPU at 1 GHz. While the co-processor is not detailed, the reuse of the existing chipset appears likely.

The leak shows the watch will be equipped with 3 GB of RAM, an increase from the 2 GB found in earlier models, which could support Google’s Gemini Intelligence features. The design is expected to mirror last year’s model, and a new analog watch face featuring Gemini’s Neural Expressive design language was also identified.

For context, Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 9 uses a newer 3 nm Snapdragon Wear Elite processor with a different CPU configuration and 2 GB of RAM.
