Ed Harris says he was misled about his role in Paramount+ series Dutton Ranch

Resumen

The veteran actor claimed his part in the Yellowstone spinoff was smaller than promised and expressed frustration with the production.

Veteran actor Ed Harris said he felt misled about the size of his role in the Paramount+ series Dutton Ranch, a spin-off of the hit drama Yellowstone. Harris, who portrays Everett McKinney, told Variety that he was led to believe he would be one of four main characters, but the first season left him feeling “unused and inconsequential.”

“Midway through the first season, I was ready to say, ‘get me the fuck out of here,’ to tell you the truth,” Harris said on the red carpet for Apple TV’s The Dink.

He said he raised the issue with the producers, who responded minimally. Harris added that a scene he was promised – singing in a bar – was cut, which he described as a key reason for considering voiding his contract. The actor is contracted for two seasons, with filming for the second season scheduled to begin in February under new showrunner Benjamin Cavell.

Paramount+ and 101 Studios did not provide comment at the time. Harris’s comments echo broader discussions about role size and creative decisions in television productions.
