Country star Brad Paisley praises Taylor Swift and Travis Kelke's New York wedding
Brad Paisley told the Associated Press the recent Madison Square Garden ceremony was among the least pretentious weddings he has attended, after the high-profile event faced criticism.
Country musician Brad Paisley said the wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden was “one of the least pretentious weddings I’ve ever seen.”
"Ironically, it was one of the least pretentious weddings I’ve ever seen or ever will see," Paisley told the Associated Press on Saturday.
He explained that the invitation hinted at the celebration without revealing the exact venue, describing the process as a “cat and mouse game” to determine the location. Paisley added that receiving the invite felt like a significant thank-you from Swift.
The comment follows public criticism of the lavish ceremony, which included more than 1,000 guests, a garden theme, and comedian Adam Sandler officiating. Reports estimate the cost at $20-$25 million. Paisley and Swift have a long-standing mentor-mentee relationship that began when he invited the then-17-year-old to open for his 2007 tour.
