Journey keyboardist Jonathan Cain criticizes Bruce Springsteen's political commentary

Resumen

Jonathan Cain told Bruce Springsteen to stop discussing politics, saying artists should keep music separate from political views, during a recent interview.

Journey keyboardist Jonathan Cain said in an interview with The Complete Disaster Network that musicians should avoid mixing politics with their art and urged fellow rock star Bruce Springsteen to refrain from political commentary. Cain, who identifies as a conservative and has previously supported President Donald Trump, explained that he believes patriotism and politics are distinct and that his own music does not convey political messages. He added that he is releasing a patriotic song titled "The Winds of Freedom: A Salute To America" and compared his approach to that of other artists who aim to unite audiences regardless of political affiliation. Cain also described Springsteen as "annoying" and "bitter," arguing that the older artist's political statements are unnecessary for a U.S.-born performer. The keyboardist is currently touring with Journey on the Final Frontier tour, which is scheduled to run through November.
